Granny had a traditional Goan remedy for hair loss that every time I saw her, she would always insist I try. Apparently it involved rubbing pork fat directly into my head – I never tried it because I thought (and still think) she was winding me up! She was always good fun to be around – particularly if Seven Hands was being played – and that’s how I’ll always remember her.
